Curtain Falls on Curtain Up!
| Added Sunday, April 2, 2006
The successful four-night run of Curtain Up! came to an end last night. Congratulations to everyone involved. Our final show completely sold out, and disappointed people were turned away at the door. After drinking far too much 'lemonade' and singing songs from Chicago until 2am, I'm guessing that there might be 1 or 2 sore heads today! Here's to May and the start of Fiddler rehearsals and we can do it all over again!
Box office smash! | Added Thursday, March 30, 2006
Good news guys, looks like we're rapidly heading towards a sell out for the remaining performances of Curtain Up! Ticket sales have been strong all week and with today's glowing review, hopefully a few more peeps will be tempted to part with £8 to see our musical spectacular!!
Oh what a night! | Added Thursday, March 30, 2006
Many congratulations to you all on a fantastic opening night performance. Hope you've all seen todays review, if you haven't yet, click here. I told you the Telegraph would love it, and you deserve every compliment they gave. I spent the interval with the reporter and he was very complimentary about you all.
Unfortunately due to space restrictions he wasn't able to comment on all the notable solo performances but you all know who you are, and I am sure the audience will show their appreciation.
Enjoy the rest of the run guys, now you really do have something to smile about!
The time has come! | Added Wednesday, March 29, 200612 weeks of rehearsals have finally come to an end, and in an explosion of glitter, sweat and sequins Curtain Up! begins tonight. It's going to be a fantastic production, so smile and enjoy it. Wishing you all the very best of luck!
A new member? | Added Tuesday, March 7, 2006
Society members Emma & Jody McCutcheon are pleased to announce the birth of their second daughter Tilly Grace. Born on Friday, March 3, 2006 Tilly tipped the scales at a massive 10 pound 4oz! Ouch Emma! and oh what a lucky man you are Jody with three women in the house!
Molly's wish for a sister has been granted, and Tilly is a welcome addition to the family, being a second grandaughter for Jeannine & Talal and niece for Uncle Haith.
Website success! | Added Tuesday, March 7, 2006
Great news, the new website really seems to have taken off with members! There are suggestions, compliments, emails, and new member enquiries flooding in daily. Some of you are even using the site to let us know if you're unable to make rehearsal which is fantastic! If you want to comment on the site or would like to make suggestions on other things you would like to see here please get in touch, it's your site too!
Sell, sell, sell! | Added Thursday, March 2, 2006
Just a reminder that it is now only three weeks to the show and it is crucial that all members whether in the show or not try and sell tickets. There are only 800 available so if each of our 80 members sold a couple that would really help! Seems a shame to work so hard for so long to perform to an empty hall! Why not try texting your friends to see if they're interested or email them the http://www.enjoytheatre.co.uk/5.html link which gives more details about the show. Posters and flyers will be available again at the next couple of rehearsals so please take some and display them at work or your local shop.

The whole company worked extremely hard to put on such a polished professional performance and its great to see this recognised by NODA! Really, very well done!
Do you enjoy theatre? postcards | Added Thursday, March 2, 2006
Do you enjoy theatre? That's the question being asked of all G&CAOS members over the next few days as postcards promoting the new society website arrive through members doors. If the answer is yes, members are advised to log on to enjoytheatre.co.uk, the online home of Grimsby & Cleethorpes Amateur Operatic Society which is packed full of society news, production information, photos and more.
